Civilized Living: Covered Wallpaper Interview
Fancy Tiger Clothing announces the August edition of Civilized Living featuring Covered Wallpaper and See Eyewear. Civilized Living is a new monthly, curated series that focuses on the cutting edge, creative talent in the Denver area and beyond. For the August installment we’ve invited two businesses that have something unique to offer Denver.
Covered Wallpaper is a local wallpaper boutique located in the vibrant Tennyson neighborhood focusing on a selection of wallpapers from around the world. For the many of you who have admired our wallpapered back wall since we’ve opened, these are the creative masterminds behind it. Recently Covered Wallpaper owners Ashley Allen and Carrie Dailey took the time to answer a few questions for us about their business in preparation for their first Friday event at Fancy Tiger Clothing.

Analog Nights by Aimee Wilder
FT: How did Covered Wallpaper get its start?
CW: We started noticing wallpaper in Denver and in magazines a few years ago, so we were going around town and taking pictures of paper on the weekends, and eventually started blogging about it. The more we learned about wallpaper, the more interested we became in having it and making it available to others.

FT: What sets your business apart from others?
CW: We like to think we offer a unique selection of in-person samples made by a variety of designers, and especially of those made by smaller designers.

FT: What services do you offer?
CW: We assist in the search for the right paper, we check out books and samples for visitors to take to their spaces and order samples if we don’t already have them, we order the paper and refer folks to wallpaper hangers.

FT: What trends in wallpaper are you seeing this year?
CW: All of the designers have their own styles, but I think in general we’ve seen more Western and native-inspired prints and metallic accents.

FT: What is your number one piece of advice for someone interested in wallpapering a room in their home?
CW: Go for it! Papering a room, wall or panel can change the feel of a space. (And, if that doesn’t count as advice, we’d say be sure to factor in the size of the repeat when figuring out how much to order.)
Join us Friday August 3rd from 7pm-10pm for a chance to meet with the people behind these local businesses and see what they have to offer. Ashley and Carrie will be on hand to answer questions about their services and will have a variety of wallpaper sample books to flip through. A local deejay will be on hand to set the soundtrack for the evening and customers can enjoy beverages from Breckenridge Brewery.
